Flower Face

Felicity is doing the baby sign for flower or smell. Whenever we say flower or smell or she sees flowers (which is quite often) this is the hilarious face she makes.

Just the 3 of Us

Here is the lovely wallpaper that was found under the other wallpaper when we had our living room repainted last week. Original 1973 wallpaper we think.

River Trip

We spent three wonderful days at our friend Stephanie's house on the Chowan River 2 weekends ago. The porch was overlooking the river and only a few feet away. We spent so much time in the shallow water and Brent went kayaking several times. Felicity got lots of attention from our friends (Stephanie, Jamie and Charles) that were there. We can't wait to go back! Sunday morning we had a worship service on the porch and it was amazing to worship surrounded by such beauty.

Chinese Clothes

Felicity wore her qipao, a tradional Chinese dress, to church on Sunday. She was so cute and got quite a few comments. I had her in her squeaky shoes from China too. The qipao was from our friends the Fischers and the squeaky shoes from our former student in China, Amy. I thought about and missed our friends in China all day.

The Budding Artist

Felicity is proudly displaying her second attempt at finger painting. Yes, she had to take a bath afterwards. I thought about keeping the paper for her baby book, but then I thought otherwise. The picture above is a much better keepsake.

Walking

Yesterday, August 10, Felicity just suddenly decided to take off walking. After I took this video, we went to a church picnic and she was taking 10-12 steps at a time!

Laughing

We have an Olympic Friendly Doll (the mascot for the olympics). I was hanging it up on the window with a suction and it was falling down, and Felicity just thought it was the most hilarious thing.

Baby Signs

Felicity's favorite and most frequent sign by far is dog, and the sign for dog has kind of morphed into the sign for any interesting animal that she sees. She also does brush teeth, eat, please, bird, hat, and ear. Today while shopping she started patting her head since she noticed someone wearing a hat. I didn't even notice the man wearing the hat, but she did! Brent doesn't know that it is a good sign that we taught her since she hits her head to say hat.

Birthday Books

Felicity recieved some wonderful kids books for her birthday from Kelley. The small ones are her favorites to open since they are just the right size for her to open and look at the pictures. And I was so happy for her to have the book Ten Little Ladybugs because we had that in China and would read it every night to our foster child Ethan. It brings back so many happy memories to read it with her!

Trip to Newbern

We had out of town visitors and took a trip. Felicity's cousin and uncle on a day trip to Newbern. Felicity is 3 months older than her cousin.
Felicity's uncle is a fireman so we went to visit the fireman's museum.

More Birthday Pics

These pictures were taken on Felicity's birthday in a new dress that was a gift. I especially like the one with her and Brent (without the life vest). We were trying on child life vests to see if any we already had fit her, although she did not really enjoy trying them on.
