North Carolina Zoo

Daddy took the kids to the zoo last Friday while I had a conference somewhat nearby.  We are making full use of our aquarium society membership this year.  The dinosaur exhibit was extra, but Henry is definitely in a dinosaur phase, and it was well worth the extra few dollars.  He is always playing with his T-rex toys or pretending to be a T-rex himself.

Sleeping kids.  I love how Henry usually falls asleep holding his favorite toys of the day that he has usually played with for hours before bed.  He still naps most days.  Today the kids slept in until almost 8 am (instead of the usual 6:30 or so), so nap needed today.  Mom felt so good!

5 Museums/zoos in a week

Norfolk Zoo...

Brent and the kids hit 5 museums and zoos over Felicity's fall break.  I went to the bird park with them, and Piers and kids went with him to the Richmond Children's museum, and the rest were just Brent and the kids.  Henry LOVES the zoos-he is really an animal lover.  I asked him if he wanted to be a zookeeper, but he still wants to be an astronaut so he can go see ET.

 The kids got 2 costumes from the toy lending library.  I don't think they will wear either of the costumes for halloween because Henry wants to be a dinosaur and Felicity wants to be a princess, but now we have some options.

 Felicity's favorite thing by far is art and art projects, although mommy started teaching her piano.  We just finished her first piano book today.  She has a pretty good sense of rhythm.

A friend gave us a bunch of new Chinese items, and the kids are actually quite good at Chinese dancing.

Felicity is 5

Felicity had 2 friends spend the night for her 5th Birthday.  They played princesses after cake. We ate at Chick Fil-A for dinner for Appreciation Day.  I didn't even know it was the appreciation day, but we were glad to eat there and support them. 

Riding Rides

 This roller coaster went pretty fast.  Henry was exactly 36 inches.  If he had been an inch shorter he would not have been able to ride many of these rides.
