Chicks

In the spirit of practicality, I wanted a pet that somehow contributed to our family. Chickens seemed perfect since they produce eggs, and we seem to go through a lot of eggs. I also like that when I get tired of the chickens, we can eat them or get rid of them easily since we live in farm country. We have 3 red pullets and 3 pullets. Why 6? That is the hatchery requirement to have at least 6. So far they are super cute (but at this point I have not bonded with them to the extent that I couldn't eat them). Easter is my favorite holiday, and I also like that they remind me of Easter. Tuesday, March 15, 2011

Riding Rides

We always asked Felicity who she wanted to ride with, and as you can see, she almost always chose Jing. Jing wanted to spin fast in the teacups though, so she rode with me and Henry, since she threw up in the car on the way there, we knew she gets carsick easily and didn't want her spinning fast. She said she was a little sick after Thundermountain too. I think she was pretty scared on Thunder mountain. We just took her on it without really telling her what it was. After, she said it was fun, but we asked if she watned to do it again, she quickly said "No."

Reading stories
I am listening to Felicity read herself stories right now. It is nice to get read a bed time story for a change. Our weeks lately have gone something like this: Monday-dance class, Tuesday-play date with the neighbor (we switch back and forth, so every other Tuesday I have a free morning!), Wednesday-story time at the library and then pack a lunch and play at the park (or today play at the indoor Chick-Fil-A because it was cold), Thursday-puppet show at Starbucks (my favorite because the kids get free drinks and $1 off all other drinks!), and Friday grocery shopping. Pretty exciting-I like schedules, even though this is a loose one. Other parts of our daily routine include baking (I found a great recipe for homemaid bisquick, so I just pour some of that in a bowl with something random like bananas, and boom-banana bread. Or add some brown sugar and chocolate, and boom-cookies. We also still do Felicity's 5 "boxes" every day. Henry now has 3 of his own. The night before, I put worksheets or puzzles in each of the boxes, and Felicity knows she has to do them in order to be able to watch Cailliou in the afternoon. Why she loves that show, I don't know, but she does. While she watches Cailliou, I nap, so both of us really try hard to get her boxes done.
Kids have been going to bed at 7:30 together. Felicity always wants to sleep with Henry now which is so nice because they play together in the room in the morning and I get extra sleep. Plus, Felicity knows that if she wants to sleep with Henry, she has to go right to bed and not call out for anything since he is trying to fall asleep.
Henry has been kind of fussy lately. He still gets his pacifier at naps, but not at bedtime. He even said the word mine today twice which kind of made me happy he was saying a new word, but sad he chose that one at the same time. Most of his new words continue to be animal sounds. His favorite sound continues to be quack, but he is absolutely terrified of this Aflac duck we have the says "Aflac". I have to get that on video sometime.
No pictures or video today since Brent has the camera for a field trip for meteorology. They are going to a TV station, and went to the airport last week.

Playing Cars
Henry loves to push this pink car around and make car noises, and put blocks in and out of the car. Too bad the car is pink. I guess he doesn't care. I had him in a pink tutu a few posts ago anyway, a pink car isn't that bad.
